DESCRIPTION Late 19th Century (1870-1899) Dimension: Approximately 11cm wide x 29cm high Indicative Price: RM 10,000 The vase is brightly enamelled with shaped panels containing a single phoenix peony blooms against a pink background, amid a turquoise-green ground decorated with further peony blooms and foliage. The neck have moulded pairs of lion-dogs and four lizard-like dragons on the shoulder. Phoenixes and peonies traditionally were associated with nonya brides. The condition of this vase is superb. No reign, shop or factory mark is present but believed was made by "Cheng Yi Tai" (????). |
